Listening to: Hanukah-Matata from The Lion King

After our visit to Oberlin we made our way to Cedar Point. We parked Gus in Camper Village and headed immodestly towards the tallest rollercoaster we could see. We were pressed for time because we wanted to make it to Chicago for dinner with my Aunt Erica, her fiancée Potter, and Grandma Lee. There were no lines on the first few roller coasters that was a very welcomed and new experience for me. It was really hot so we decided to go on some log flume rides that got us much wetter than expected. Somehow Max and I were the lucky ones who managed to pick the two seats that got the most drenched on both rides. We had time for one last ride. We waited on line for an hour for the Millennium Falcon. It gave us some chance to dry off and it was totally worth the wait.

We picked up an Ipod car charger so we could drive to Chicago with some music—every electronic piece of equipment we had was dead at that point. We got to Erica’s at about 7pm. She had already scouted out a place that we could park Gus that we could see from our bedroom window. We were met with a beautiful apartment, wine ready to be poured, and A SHOWER! If someone were to have given me a choice between Erica’s shower and a huge slice of Chocolate Cake, I would be headed for the shower in no time. I was so thankful that I could no longer smell myself. We met my grandma Lee and headed out for dinner at a great authentic Indian restaurant. After dinner we bushed our teeth in a sink (might not sound exciting too you but it was) and crawled into bed. We passed out before midnight and if you know us at all you’ll understand how remarkable that is—I think we forgot what it was like to sleep in air conditioning. Erica and GL helped outfit the bus with some neat things. After joyriding with my aunt and grandma we were on the road again by the afternoon. Thank you Erica, Potter, and GL for aiding us in our journey we really appreciate it! Next stop: Madison, Wisconsin
